Woman Missing 7 Days

Brittney Thomas, a 25-year-old EMT, disappeared from her apartment, leaving her phone and all her belongings. Local police assisted in searching for her, but without any leads, the search ended the following evening. Her family members and friends spent the next several days searching, passing out flyers, asking for nearby video, and showing her photo, desperately looking for leads. After a google search, the family called KYK9 for help. Although Brittney had been missing for 7 days, K9 Pocket was able to follow her scent and within 2 hours found Brittney’s body.

Note from Brittney's family:
If we had Pocket and KYK9 as an immediate resource, things may have turned out differently. If we had this resource the next day, our family would have had answers and closure much sooner and would not have experienced the pain of searching and not knowing, and feeling helpless. We truly believe we would not have found Brittney to this day if not for Jennifer and Pocket. Thank you again for your help.

Law Enforcement Letter of Appreciation

Thank you for your assistance in the recent search and recovery of Brittney Thomas. While the search did not have the desired result of locating Brittney alive, I can't help but believe that your efforts in this investigation were nothing short of extraordinary. Without your assistance, it is un-telling how long it would have been before the family and all those involved were able to have closure.

KYK9's involvement in this case from beginning to end was nothing short of professional, from the initial contact with the family, contact with law enforcement, response time, initiation of the search, and the reporting thereafter. I am beyond impressed with the efforts and abilities that KYK9 has shown during this investigation.

The work your organization does is truly wholesome and provides a service to law enforcement and families of missing persons that cannot be expressed adequately. The emotional support and closure that a recovery of any kind can create is something that is invaluable and you should be commended for providing such a service.

Please express my gratitude to all members of your organization and give K9 Pocket a scratch behind the ears
